Lord Ganesha Idol – 3 Inch | Gold Plated Off-White | Gold Art India

Lord Ganesha — Vighnaharta, remover of obstacles, lord of beginnings. This 3-inch idol features gold plated off-white finish, weighs 120 grams, and ships in a gift box at ₹799. Compact enough for a car dashboard, detailed enough for a home mandir shelf.

The off-white terracotta body beneath gold plating is Gold Art India's signature finish — the one that started the brand. The ivory-cream base paired with warm gold ornaments gives the idol the quality of ancient temple idols found in South Indian shrines.

About This Finish

Gold Art India pioneered the combination of electroplated finishes with terracotta-style hand-painted colour work on deity idols in India. The double-lens eye technique gives the idol a life-like gaze that single-painted eyes cannot replicate. Every piece is inspected before packaging — the gold plated off-white finish you receive will be consistent with product images.

Where exactly should I place a Ganesha idol in my car?

Place the idol on the dashboard facing you (the driver) — ideally on the left or centre. The idol should face toward you, not away. Avoid placing it where it could slide during braking. A small piece of non-slip mat under the base keeps it stable. The 3 inch size is well suited for most dashboards without obstructing vision.

Why is the body off-white and not gold all over?

The off-white terracotta body is a deliberate design choice referencing ancient South Indian temple iconography where Ganesha idols were carved in pale stone with gold-painted ornaments. The contrast makes the jewelry and detailing stand out far more than an all-gold finish would. This is also Gold Art India's original and signature finish.

Can I energise this Ganesha idol at home?

Yes. Place the idol on a clean red or yellow cloth. Light a diya with ghee. Offer durva grass, modak, and red flowers — these are Ganesha’s most auspicious offerings. Chant Om Gan Ganapataye Namah 108 times. For a permanent puja room placement, a brief Prana Pratishtha by a priest is recommended, though daily home consecration is widely practised and fully valid.

Which day should I bring the idol home?

Wednesday (Budhwar) is the day most associated with Ganesha worship and considered ideal for bringing a new Ganesha idol home. Chaturthi (the 4th day of every lunar fortnight) is another auspicious time. Ganesh Chaturthi in August–September and Diwali are the two most significant occasions for installing a new Ganesha murti.

Does it come in a gift box?

Yes. Ships in a protective gift box — presentable enough to gift directly without rewrapping. The packaging is designed to keep the idol safe in transit. If you are ordering as a gift, no additional wrapping is needed.
