Why MDF Base
Most compact Ganesha idols have a polyresin base that is part of the same moulded piece. The MDF (medium density fibreboard) wood base is a separate solid wood platform that the idol sits on. This makes the idol significantly more stable on a dashboard or desk — the flat wood bottom does not rock or shift, and the weight of the wood anchors the idol better than a purely polyresin piece. The natural wood grain visible on the base also adds a traditional, handcrafted quality that complements the gold matte finish of the idol above it.
