Gold Plated Idols — 22kt Electroplated Divine Murtis by Gold Art India
Every idol in this collection is finished with genuine 22kt gold electroplating. Not spray paint, not gold wash, not vacuum coating. The metal is bonded to the polyresin surface through an electrical current in a gold bath — the same process used in fine jewellery. It holds up through years of daily puja and regular handling.
63 products across every major deity and use case. From compact ₹799 Ganesha idols for car dashboards to the 9 inch Tirupati Balaji at ₹4,399 for a home mandir centrepiece.

What 22kt Gold Electroplating Means
The polyresin base is sculpted, given a conductive coating, submerged in a 22kt gold bath with an electrical current passing through it. The gold bonds at a molecular level. This is categorically different from spray painting, dipping in gold solution, or vacuum metalising. The result looks richer, lasts longer, and does not chip or peel the way painted finishes do. Keep the idol dry, away from moisture, and wipe with a soft dry cloth. It will hold its appearance for years.
Is the gold plating real gold?
It is real gold electroplating, approximately 22kt grade. Not spray paint, not a gold-coloured lacquer, not vacuum coating. The process involves submerging the idol in a gold bath with an electrical current so the gold bonds to the surface. It is the same electroplating process used in gold-plated jewellery. The gold content per idol is small by weight but the finish quality and durability is significantly better than any painted alternative.
How long does the gold plating last?
With basic care — keeping the idol dry, wiping with a soft cloth, not exposing it to water, chemicals or direct sunlight for extended periods — the gold plating holds up well for several years. The idol should not be bathed in milk or water, which many people instinctively want to do for puja. Offer milk and water on a tray in front of the idol, not on the surface itself.
Which gold plated idol is best for a car dashboard?
The gold plated Ganesha range starting at ₹799 is the most popular choice for car dashboards. The off-white gold Ganesha, orange terracotta Ganesha and the pagadi Ganesh with gold-plated Mooshak are the three most commonly bought. All are under 4 inches and weigh under 150 grams, making them stable on any dashboard.
Which gold plated idol makes the best gift?
The Kamdhenu cow and calf from ₹1,199 is the most universally appreciated gold plated gift — it is a Vastu symbol that any household can use. For Diwali specifically, the Laxmi Ganesh pairs in the gold plated range are the traditional choice. For a car gifting occasion, any of the compact Ganesha idols from ₹799 work perfectly. For a home mandir gift, the 9 inch Tirupati Balaji at ₹4,399 is a premium statement piece.
