Red is the colour most associated with Lakshmi's energy in Hindu tradition — it represents prosperity, auspiciousness and the warmth of abundance. The enamel colour work on this idol is hand-applied over the gold plating, giving the attire and base detailing a vibrant red that the gold alone cannot achieve. The included gold plated Lakshmi coin is used directly in puja — placed in front of the idol during Diwali puja, it represents the divine currency of Lakshmi's blessings. Many devotees keep the coin in their purse, cash box or safe after the puja as a symbol of prosperity throughout the year.

It is placed in front of the idol during the puja along with new currency notes and coins from the cash box or business. After the puja is complete, many devotees keep the coin in their purse, wallet, cash drawer or safe throughout the year as a symbol of Lakshmi's blessing on their finances. It is also kept in the locker or cash box as a permanent Vastu piece.
