About This Idol

At 7 inches this Lakshmi idol is designed to be the dominant piece in a home mandir. The red enamel on the attire is hand-applied — each piece individually painted rather than moulded in colour — which means there is slight natural variation between pieces that adds to the artisanal quality. The golden lotus base references Lakshmi's most sacred symbol. Red is the colour most associated with Lakshmi's divine energy in North Indian tradition — she is offered red roses, red cloth and red bangles in traditional Lakshmi puja.
