Gold Plated Antique Matte Ganesha Idol – 3.3 Inch | Gold Plated Antique Matte | Gold Art India
Lord Ganesha — Vighnaharta, remover of obstacles, lord of beginnings — in a gold-plated antique matte finish that gives the warmth of gold without the harsh shine — aged, regal, and deeply suited to a deity idol meant for daily darshan. At 3.3 inches tall and 135 grams, this idol sits perfectly on a car dashboard, office desk, or puja shelf, and ships in a gift box at ₹999.
Gold is the traditional metal for deity worship in India. Not because of wealth — because gold does not tarnish, does not decay, does not change. This idol carries that symbolism in gold electroplating with an antique matte finish that settles the brightness into something deeper.

About This Finish
Gold Art India pioneered the combination of electroplated finishes with terracotta-style hand-painted colour work on deity idols in India. The double-lens eye technique gives the idol a life-like gaze that single-painted eyes cannot replicate. Every piece is inspected before packaging — the gold antique matte finish you receive will be consistent with product images.

Where exactly should I place a Ganesha idol in my car?
Place the idol on the dashboard facing you (the driver) — ideally on the left or centre. The idol should face toward you, not away. Avoid placing it where it could slide during braking. A small piece of non-slip mat under the base keeps it stable. The 3.3 inch size is compact enough for most dashboards without obstructing vision.
Is this a real electroplated finish or just painted?
The gold antique matte is a genuine electroplating process — not spray paint or metallic lacquer. The polyresin base is coated with a conductive primer, then passed through a gold electroplating bath. The metal bonds to the surface chemically. An antique matte topcoat is then applied to soften the shine and give the aged, regal quality. Tarnish resistance lasts 18–24 months under normal conditions.
Can I energise this Ganesha idol at home?
Yes. Place the idol on a clean red or yellow cloth. Light a diya with ghee. Offer durva grass, modak, and red flowers — these are Ganesha’s most auspicious offerings. Chant Om Gan Ganapataye Namah 108 times. For a permanent puja room placement, a brief Prana Pratishtha by a priest is recommended, though daily home consecration is widely practised and fully valid.
What is the difference between antique matte and regular gold plated?
A regular gold-plated finish is bright and shiny — it reflects light directly. The antique matte finish has a topcoat applied that diffuses reflection, giving the idol a warmer, deeper gold that looks aged and regal. For a deity idol meant for daily darshan and puja, antique matte is generally considered more appropriate than a mirror-bright finish.
Does it come in a gift box?
Yes. Ships in a protective gift box — presentable enough to gift directly without rewrapping. The packaging is designed to keep the idol safe in transit. If you are ordering as a gift, no additional wrapping is needed.
