About the Electroplating
Most decorative idols sold online are spray painted or use a thin gold wash that fades within months. Our idols go through genuine electroplating — submerged in a 999 silver or approximately 22kt gold bath with electrical current. The metal bonds to the polyresin surface properly. The result is a finish that looks richer, catches light differently, and holds up through years of regular use. Keep the idol dry and away from moisture and it will last. Do not pour milk, oil or water directly on the surface — offer these in a small bowl placed in front of the idol during puja.
Room-by-Room Vastu Guide
| Room | Recommended Deity | Direction |
|---|---|---|
| Entrance | Ganesha | Facing inward, North-East preferred |
| Puja Room | All deities welcome | Idol faces East or West, you face East |
| Living Room | Lakshmi Ganesha, Kamdhenu, Ram | North or East wall |
| Office / Study | Ganesha, Adiyogi, Om Figurine | North-East corner of desk |
| North-East Corner | Kamdhenu, Om, Shankha | Facing inward toward home centre |
Which direction should I place Ganesha in my home?
According to Vastu Shastra, Ganesha should face north or east. The most powerful placement is at the main entrance, on the right side as you enter, above 4 feet from the floor and facing inward into the home. Never place Ganesha facing south. Our idols come with a Vastu placement guide covering all deities.
Can I place a gold plated idol in my home temple?
Yes. Gold plated idols are considered highly auspicious in Hindu tradition and are widely used in home mandirs. The approximately 22kt gold electroplating gives a finish that is both beautiful and durable when kept dry. Many devotees prefer gold for the home mandir as gold is associated with prosperity and divine light in Hindu tradition.
How do I care for a silver plated idol?
Keep it dry. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth when needed. Never pour water, milk, oil or any liquid directly on the idol — the lacquer coating will be damaged. Offer flowers or incense on a tray in front of the idol, not on it. If a gentle patina develops over time on antique matte finishes, it adds to the aged character and is normal.
What is the best housewarming gift idol?
A Kamdhenu cow and calf starting at ₹1,199 is the most universally appropriate housewarming gift — it is a Vastu symbol that any household can use and it is beautiful in any setting. For a more premium gift, the Panchmukhi Hanuman Bust at ₹2,499 or the large Balaji at ₹4,399 are excellent choices. For a traditional Diwali housewarming combination, a Laxmi Ganesh pair from this collection is the standard.
